About Me

Sandra Meza is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. She is trained in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). She has received some training in child-centered play therapy and is currently receiving training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Sandra is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults and creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where individuals can feel empowered to live the lives they desire. 

 

Sandra is a graduate of Houston Baptist University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2019. She went on to graduate from Houston Baptist University again with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022. Sandra has experience working in a variety of settings including inpatient and outpatient settings, private and public schools, an online mental health coaching platform, non-profit organizations, and virtually. Sandra works as a therapist at a non-profit organization where she provides trauma informed therapy to children, teenagers, and adults and their non-offending caregivers and family members. 

 

Sandra believes that one therapy modality cannot be applicable to all individuals, so she aims to practice through a person-centered and strengths-based lens. She meets clients where they are in their healing process and aims to consistently create a warm, welcoming environment where a strong therapeutic alliance can be created and where clients can feel comfortable to be their authentic selves. With children and adolescents, Sandra also believes that the involvement of a supportive caregiver is vital in order for children and teens to thrive and feel empowered to utilize and build on their strengths. 

 

In her free time, Sandra enjoys spending time with her loved ones, relaxing at home with her cat, journaling, listening to music, watching her favorite movies and TV shows, and walking in nature.
