About Me:

Chris is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate and completed the National Certified Counselor examination. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an infantryman. Following his honorable discharge, he was a general manager and security trainer in the hospitality, service, and food and beverage industries. After a career working in security operations management and human resources, Chris began working with children, adolescents, and young adults with severe psychiatric and mental health disorders in a residential treatment center in 2019. He utilized “folksy wisdom” and personal experience to connect with clients and re-direct their anger and behaviors into effective problem-solving strategies. He graduated with his master’s degree in 2023. He worked with a private practice in The Woodlands, providing cognitive, neurological, and personality assessment for government agencies and crisis counseling, single-session solutions-focused interventions, and psychological/psychiatric diagnostic services.

Chris now focuses and enjoys working with “littles,” adolescents, teens, adults, and parents on effective strategies to contend with an ever-changing world and life. He advocates for adaptability, unconditional love for the self and others (in that order), personal empowerment, a deeper understanding of interpersonal dynamics, and building collaborative relationships with clients. Chris takes an individual and holistic approach to all treatments. He uses CBT, ACT, Interpersonal principles, talk therapy, parental training, mindfulness, emotion regulation, meditation, and spirituality in his work with clients. He believes that working through issues with a person-centered lens will give the individual and counselor more clarity into their lives and issues.

Chris earned his associate’s degree in social and behavioral science from San Jacinto College in 2018, a bachelor’s in psychology from the University of Houston – Downtown in 2019, and a master’s in clinical psychology from the University of Houston – Clear Lake. While at UHCL, he saw clients with a myriad of issues ranging from life transitions and adjustments, interpersonal and relational concerns, trauma, depression, and anxiety, all the way to conduct and personality disorders, untreated and undiagnosed neurodiversity and psychopathology, and identity development and multicultural issues such as sexuality, stigma, socialization, and men’s issues.

His background in the military and various other fields allows Chris to explore and comprehend his clients' challenges while giving them a place to fully open up about their journey through life. He enjoys using new and novel approaches to combat issues that

In his free time, Chris enjoys cooking and baking, playing table-top RPG games, camping (when he is able), cosplaying at Renaissance Faires, helping his friends make short films and documentaries, traveling, and spending as much time as possible with his spouse.
